I’ve been trying desperately to get my American leftist friends to vote in the upcoming election, but they continually refuse, evidently not understanding what is at stake. Still they refuse. They call me a reformist. They call me a liberal! Listen: I’m as leftist as they come. I voted for Elizabeth Warren. I listen to and uplift voices. I share every infographic I come across. As far as I’m concerned, we have to use every tool in our arsenal. And it is for this reason that I am stabbing myself in the dick.
“Why are you doing that?” people ask me. I explain to them that I am trying to defeat fascism. “That’s not doing anything,” they say. I smirk, knowing that I understand political strategy and they don’t. I explain to them that I am merely using every tool in my arsenal. I can stab myself in the dick, and because I can do that it makes it a tool, and therefore I must use it.
